    I think you're going to run into interesting control/stability issues assuming standard motor mixing due to the shape of the body. This is an intriguing experiment for sure.

    I was thinking about this exact thing the other day. Buy in my mind, the 'wings' were in the voids between the rotors. I was also envisioning adding servos so they could be rotated so as to not add too much drag.

    What about adding small 'wings' in the voids between the rotors, particularly in the front and back. This may enable them to serve as ailerons and add some
    extra lift while moving quickly. I think I want to test this and see.

    I believe if you are using a racing drone and have front and rear ailerons that can be pitched will allow you to make more dramatic turns and may help slow the aircraft down and enable a really tight u-turn.
