Trex 600E.
Hi. Would you mind posting a side view picture of the hex? I really want to see how you stacked the plates. Thanks!
Do you like that ESC power distribution plate? Any idea how it compares in weight to a cable harness? It sure helps make the build look nice and clean. And I like the idea of fewer connectors. Also, do you worry at all about shorting those open pads?
@Nate,
I'll try to get a picture up later.
@xtrmtrk,
I like the power board, and I'm not too concerned about shorts since the frame is primarily plywood. I think it's lighter than a cable harness. There are some covers that go along with it, but wouldn't fit this design. If the frame was aluminum, I would not use it without the covers.
Here's a side view. The top plate is not installed and the shield is not on the Mega 2560. The left most motor is acting up, so I'm doing some troubleshooting.
So there is the top plate (not shown), the avionics plate, the esc plate, then some long standoffs to the battery/landing gear plate. The arms are suspended by vibration damping grommets and some spacers.
Thanks for the picture jihlein. Your frame is a bit like the cyclone. I really like the motor / arm isolation. Nice.
Looks really nice!
But what if you land hard, won't the bottom plate break?
It hasn't yet.......:)
What size screws are you using?
