Checkout the new Spektrum DX8. I know that is is pricy, but it includes basic telemetry that can indicate on the transmitter display when to shut down your quadrarotor.

Hi all,
Find attached an ArduPilot Mega/IMU Mega Test Utility that sends the IMU data in processed form. Please be sure to use the attached APM_ADC file, that was created by pyjamasam, has it has the as shipped version of the IMU Mega pinouts. Also, I have not tried the GPS function or any functions other than the IMU sensor portion.
Also note, this is not a FLYABLE version.
