I was out for a flight the other day, testing out some new FPV gear. We noticed a swarm of bees following the quad everywhere. Guess they like the sound or something? Had a mate video the flight on his phone and here's part of it - hopefully the quality is good enough to see the bees:

Nice and stable with v2.3 + ARG in attitude mode. Rate P=150, D=-125, accel P=5, I=0.25. The view through the FPV feed was awesome - could see over the whole city! Didn't record the FPV feed this time but will do next flight.

I've noticed the same thing, I usually see one or two large insects making attack runs on my quad.

Might think the yellow part of the landing gear is a flower or something.

Had a run in with a white butterfly while I had white ping pong ball landing gear on.

Nice flight by the way.

I've noticed the same thing...Any special landing gear?

That's quite possible. Could be the purple pool noodle attracting them too - looks just like lavender flowers which bees love.

Cheers. Looking forward to flying FPV - I've got a MAX7456 breakout just waiting to be used when I have the time to hack some code together!

I was at my favorite part and saw birds trying to dive bomb my quad. I hadn't realized how territorial birds are... they didn't like the hovering things flying in their air space!

By the way, New Zealand'ers speak with cool accents! Thanks for sharing the video!
