Hi,

Just finished my MiniQuad prototype (looks still quite ugly :D).

specs:
25cm motor-motor
APM/Oilpan IMU
19g Turnigy motors
6inch 3 balde props
800mah 3S 20C lipo

take-off weight 340g (needs some optimization, i know :))

it's perfectly stable in-door. i have no idea why the new AQ 2.4 software doesn't need any PID tuning at all! I'm flying all of my quads from 60 to 25cm with default settings... do you have any explanation for that?

greets
marco

Wow, seems really stable and nice. Especially since you wanna risk your TV! :P

I wonder why on both my large and my small (comparable to yours) the 2.4 and default PID's just won't work... Must be something different....

Quite impressive!

I also have the same Roomba :)

Very Nice Job,
On the PIDs,
I think if you do (as you did :) ) a good job in building the frame and in smoothing vibration, there is a very large choice of PID that you may set to satisfy your piloting style

I also think it's the frame. I don't use any foam / rubber stuff to mount the electronics. electronics must be screwed directly to the frame, for best results. I once tried to mount the APM/IMU with a "foam sandwich" inside a Tupperware case, quad was not flyable at all... as soon as i screwed it on the same frame, everything worked perfectly.

about risking the TV :) yes it's a bit risky and my girlfriend doesn't like flying in-door at all :D but I'm wondering if the LCD would really get damaged by the props. these TV LCD panels are very hard material, won't try it though... ;)
