View Full Version : DIY Gopro camera improvement by changing lens

This not a flight video, but I didn't know where to post it.

I spotted some amazing video footage from a guy who used a Gopro camera with his multicopter (don't remember where though, but I will write here if I recall).

He had replaced the original lens with a Sunex 355A-650-F2.8 so the footage didn't look as crappy as Gopro videos normally do.

I did this modification myself. It can be a bit tricky, so I made a video of how I did it.

The latest Sunex catalog states that the 355A lens is NOT compatible with the new Hero2 cameras. Has anyone identified an equivalent lens from Sunex? I want to use a longer focal length lens to get more magnification so will be looking at the 12-15mm FL lenses.
